sucre {giveaway!}

I recently received a sample from Sucre. Their holiday macaroon collection. I didn't even want to open the box it was presented so beautifully. Upon opening I was greeted with these bite size macaroons in hot pink and brown, they had a shiny finish and were topped with chocolate drizzle and candy cane. They looked too good to eat, but we ate them anyway.

They were crunchy and sweet, melt in your mouth and perfectly delicate. They would make the perfect hostess gift, grandparent gift, spouse gift, stocking stuffer.. or just because gift.

Browsing Sucre's site I came upon their peppermint drinking chocolate. I would love to find this in my sock Christmas morning. Oh how I love a good cup of cocoa. Be sure to check out all their sweets and treats, I've been more than impressed with everything I've ever tried from Sucre.

I am happy to tell you that today Sucre is giving away one of their 6 piece Sugar and Spice Holiday Collections. Complete with Gingerbread Truffles, Eggnog Dark Chocolate Truffles and Candy Cane White Chocolate Truffles. They are beautiful and delicious!

What Sucre delicacy would you like to try?

subway christmas art.

A friend emailed me this link last week. I LOVE this simple yet fun Christmas decor. Blog eighteen25 has a free downloadable version of the subway print you can send to your local Costco or photo center, then buy yourself a frame and voila you're done. The banner and glitter trees look pretty simple as well. Happy Crafting!

puj tub.

If you haven't heard, puj is giving away a tub a week until New Years. Visit my cute friend Katie's (owner and designer of puj) blog for more details and to enter to win. It's easy, and you'll love the tub. I promise.

pillow pet {giveaway!!}

True story: When my kids first started asking for pillow pets, I told them they needed another stuffed animal like they needed a hole in their head. I know, so nice and loving, right?

They continued asking, talking about them, telling me Santa would bring them one, singing "it's a pillow, it's a pet, it's a pillow pet". I kept envisioning the pillow pet in the bucket of other stuffed animals in the far corners of the basement. They have more stuffed animals than we know what to do with, and never once have I seen them play with them.

When pillow pets approached me with a giveaway, I went ahead, they sent my girls a pillow pet and did I ever eat my words. Those pillow pets have been loved, played with, slept on and used more than any other toy they have.

And so, they have grown on me. I'm highly impressed with their animal selections, everything from triceratops to magic unicorn. They are one of the hottest Christmas items, so I'd suggest you get yours now. You won't regret it, and if you wait too long they might be sold out.

One of my favorite features of the pillow pet (aside from the fact that they're washable! Just let them air dry), is that they fold up allowing your kids to put their p.j.'s and toothbrush inside the pillow pet for overnight visits to grandma's house.

Today they are giving a pillow pet of your choice away to one lucky winner. Seriously, you want to win this. You will absolutely be the winner of the best Christmas present this year if your child opens a pillow pet. I'm a total believer after our experience.

Which Pillow Pet would your child love to have?

Pillow Pets is granting extra entries if you follow THEM on facebook or on their blog and..

I'm granting extra entries for following T+T, fb posts, twitter posts, blog entries etc. Leave a link back for each individual method you use.

children's classics.

We have this amazing mall right near our house, I love to spend the afternoon window shopping at all my favorite stores that I used to only visit online. The other day I stopped into Anthropologie and found these canvas covered children's' classics. I fell in love instantly.

I would love one of each, lining my bookshelves.

I would love to see my children get lost in these books.

eleven collection {giveaway!}

Are these not the cutest shoes in the world? They are.. I know, because Eleven Collection sent me a pair and Stella has been wearing them all over town, with many many compliments.

You don't love the red ruffles (Alessia Cranberry)? That's ok. There are tons of styles to choose from.

How about the Teal Ingrid? I would love to see my girls running around in these. That's what I LOVE about these shoes. Your kids can run and play without worrying about tripping, or their shoes falling off. They can be dressy or casual. Both my girls agree that the shoes from Eleven Collection are their favorites because they are so comfortable. Not to mention easy on the eyes.
Do you have little boys running around your house? There are fun styles for boys as well. Here are a couple of my favorites. The Josef Brown..
and apparently I really like the Josef, because without realizing I picked the Josef Navy as my other favorite.

Which Eleven Collection pair would you like to take home with you?
One winner will take home a pair of their choice.

phew!

Halloween is OVER!! I made two of the three costumes this year.
The inspiration for the owl came from alphamom.
The inspiration for the flamingo came from a friend.

Regular posting will resume tomorrow, along with some great giveaways!

I've been busy...

Making this Halloween costume for one little lady and a hot pink flamingo for the other (pictures to come).
I bookmarked the owl last year and shockingly I remembered it this year. I just finished it tonight and can't wait to try it on her in the morning!

Training for this race, which is officially upon us and I am SO not ready. What was I thinking?
Wish me luck.

And finally our first of what I am sure will be many attempts at the family picture for our Christmas card.
Wouldn't it be nice if my little lady was smiling and the husband left his gray sweater on? I think so too.

On another note, I've got some great giveaways lined up for the next few weeks!

caramel apples.

I've always wanted to attempt the loaded caramel apple, but it scares me. Have you done it? Tips? These instructions make it seem do-able. Maybe this will be the year I actually take the plunge and make some.

tablecloth.

I know this isn't very "fall-ish" but I've had my eye on it since my friend Natalie posted a picture of it on her table this summer. I love the rainbow colors and think it would be so fun for all those rainbow parties that are floating around… and it's on sale $29.95. but hurry, only limited quantities available.

I think these sandwiches are brilliant! So cute for a party, or just to spice up lunch a bit. I can't imagine a kid wouldn't eat these.

Halloween Town.

I am loving this simple Halloween town. The best thing about it, it's easy to make. Tutorial here.

owl cookies.

No school for us tomorrow and I know what we'll be doing. Trying out these awesome owl cookies. How cute are they? Perfect for fall entertaining/fun.

Rosanna's Owl Cookies

Ingredients:

This dough is enough to make a large batch of cookies for Halloween school parties or Halloween home parties.

3 cups all-purpose flour
3 tsp. Baking powder
1/2 tsp. Ground sea salt
1 1/2 sticks organic butter
1 1/3 cup white sugar
2 large eggs
4 tsp. vanilla
1/2 package semi-sweet chocolate chips

Mix the dry ingredients well in bowl. Cream the butter and add sugar to dry ingredients. Beat eggs and vanilla separately then add slowly to mixture. Blend well.

Separate the dough. Take approximately 1/3 of the dough and mix in half a package of melted semi-sweet chocolate chips. The dough will become chocolate dough and form a log. Roll the dough very quickly before the chocolate solidifies. Make sure it is a solid roll. Cover with wax paper and put in the refrigerator.

With the remaining vanilla dough (white) roll it out in a long rectangular shape, this dough will be the outer later that will encase the chocolate log. It should resemble a bulls-eye, an outer vanilla layer, with the inner chocolate roll. Wrap the log in wax paper and refrigerate until firm. Wait at least 2 hours or you can freeze the dough a head of time for up to one month.

When ready to assemble the owls place the semi-sweet chocolate chip in a small bowl for easy access. Place the cashews in another small bowl.
(If there are nut allergies you can substitute with candy corn for the nose)

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Grease the cookie sheets with butter. Cut the logs into 1/8-slices. On the cookie sheet join the two slices together, by pinching them. Slightly pinch the two opposite sides of the rounds into pointy ear shapes. Place a chocolate chip upside down in the center of each chocolate eye. Then place the cashew embedded into the center of the two joined circles. It is now complete.
Continue the same process. Place the cookies about 2 inches apart. Bake at 375 degrees, for about 10 minutes. Watch closely until lightly browned. Remove and cool on a cookie rack.

Have a nice large tin to pack away between layers or waxed paper. Keep the tin in a cool place until Halloween or freeze the cookies a head of time. Be careful not to fill the containers too full, to avoid breaking the two halves. Serve on a shiny Black cake pedestal for a very spooky effect.

If you haven't checked out Rosanna's entire chic table top line, I would highly recommend it! I'll let you know how the recipe goes.

how to fold a fitted sheet: tutorial.

Leave it to Martha Stewart to have the perfect tutorial for changing a fitted sheet. I used to crumple mine up in a ball and throw them in the linen closet so frustrated that no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get it to lay nice. Then I happened upon this tutorial and it has changed laundry day forever. I hope it works wonders for you as well.

candy corn parfaits.

When I saw these candy corn parfaits on one of my favorite food blogs (baked bree) I knew I had to make them. I'm on my way to the store now for supplies. I think they'll be a hit with the kiddos.

volume 25.

Do you ever go through a slump? I feel like like lately I have been in a slump. Saturday night I listened to some very inspiring speakers and have been slowly trying to pull myself out. I think this poster would be the perfect reminder to be grateful every day for so many things.

I love old typewriters and I love yellow, so this also made my list.

The whole volume 25 etsy shop is a fun one. All kinds of great posters. I'm hoping to add one to my home in the near future.

Good boy clothes are hard to come by. Sparkle and Spin hit the nail on the head, in my opinion anyway.

tooth fairy.

We've lost two teeth in the last week and a third is sure to follow quickly. We're creating our own little jack-o-lantern just in time for Halloween. I love the idea of keeping track, and this looks like the perfect way to do so. no?

outdoor garden party.

I recently helped in the planning and execution of an outdoor garden birthday party. I don't think the night could have been more perfect. We hauled out every piece of white/cream furniture I own, begged and borrowed from other friends and in the end, it looked like a party tailored specifically to the guest of honor.

I loved having it outside, with the twinkling lights and night falling, the girly fresh summer food, yummy salads and of course the cake. As it got colder we bundled up under fluffy pink down comforters, passed the candy dishes around the circle and laughed the night away.

What's your favorite kind of party?

gray paper straws: hey yoyos
white cake stands: home goods
ruffled cake stand: costco
pink ruffle pillow: hettle
